Liquid Shredder Review
With a seemingly oversaturated market of soft-top surfboard brands out on the market these days, it can be hard to tell whether a board you want to purchase is worth it.
The beauty of Liquid Shredder boards is that they live up to the brand name more than any other soft-top board brand out there. Not only are Liquid Shredder boards excellent for beginners, they also happen to be some of the most maneuverable soft-top surfboards around!
Today we're going to dive in and explore some of the best Liquid Shredder surfboards in the lineup!
#1 7ft EZ Slider
If you are a beginner, we highly recommend looking at the 7ft EZ Slider.
This Liquid shredder Surfboard was designed for beginners up to 150lbs.
It comes complete with a soft foam deck, a fast HDPE bottom, and a durable EPS core.
We often see these boards out at various surf schools, as they are incredibly easy to teach new surfers on too.
Now, just because this is a "beginner" board does not mean it uses cheap materials.
In fact, the incorporated dual wooden stringers add serious strength.
Once you start catching bigger waves, you won't have to worry about your board taking a beating.
The construction of the board allows it to go pretty fast, even when conditions are pretty small. The textured foam material prevents you from sliding around when the board is wet, however, we don't recommend cutting back on the wax job!
In our opinion, the 7ft EZ Slider falls between a longboard and a funboard in terms of design. The reason that it's at the top of the list is that it works in all kinds of surfing conditions. Whether you're paddling out in mushy whitewater or hitting head-high waves, this Liquid Shredder board will get you where you need to go.
#2 6ft EZ Slider
The 6ft EZ Slider runs a bit shorter than its cousin above, making it perfect for young kids who need a board that is a bit smaller to handle properly. With that said, it is also a great board for novice riders who have a bit more experience out on the water and can ride with stability.
It's important to note that this board has a fairly low weight capacity at only 120 pounds, so definitely make sure to consider your weight before making a purchase. Even with low weight capacity, it is still a very stable board with high quality materials.
The surfboard is fabricated with and EPS foam blank for the core and uses a soft, yet firm expanded polyethylene deck with a white polypropylene slick bottom for added speed. Overall, the construction of this Liquid Shredder makes for a seriously fast and rigid ride. The two wooden stringers give the 6ft EZ Slider the necessary stiffness to keep riders feeling stable in the waves.
With a hand-shaped and heat-laminated design, this iteration of the EZ Slider provides performance that you can't find in many other places. With the paddling perks and wave-catching ease of a longboard and the performance of a shortboard, it's a board that beginners and experienced riders the best of both worlds.
#3 5 feet 10 inch Retro Fish EZ Slider
You didn't think they could make them any smaller, huh?
We love the 5'10" Retro Fish EZ Slider.
This Liquid Shredder combines high-performance expectations with advanced Liquid Shredder technology to present one of the most maneuverable boards in the Liquid Shredder lineup.
The construction and design make for a seriously fun ride.
One of the things we love most about the 5'10" Retro Fish EZ Slider is the fact that it comes with a twin-fin setup.
You can easily carve into the face of waves and dig in deeper with the swallowtail design. Even with its small size, you get a surprising amount of traction with this board.
With most small boards, the issue lies in getting through slower sections. However, the fact that this board uses a well-rounded nose gives surfers tons of stability and paddling perks to maintain total control, no matter how small the conditions.
Overall, we highly recommend the 5'10" Retro Fish EZ Slider for young beginners or intermediate riders who want a board they can go out and have some fun with. The board is an absolute blast to ride and it is the perfect summer shredder.
#4 8ft EZ Slider
Bringing it back up to the big boys, we have the 8ft EZ Slider.
This is an ideal starting board for young surfers looking to start their surfing journies off right.
Beyond that, it is the perfect, everyday board for those who live in areas with unexpected wave conditions.
One of the top qualities of the 8ft EZ Slider is the fact that it is incredibly buoyant.
The buoyancy provides new surfers with a bit of forgiveness out in the water.
Often, new surfers make mistakes because they can't get their balance right.
The 8ft EZ Slider aims to take balance problems out of the equation and does a pretty good job at it.
When you look at the fundamentals of surfing, the ability to catch waves in the whitewater is extremely important. To do so, you need a longer and wider board. This is precisely why so many fans of this brand gravitate toward the 8ft EZ Slider.
#5 9ft EZ Slider FSE
While most of the boards in the Liquid Shredder lineup live by the name, we have to say that the 9ft Liquid Shredder FSE is more or less a cruiser. However, it does have a fair amount of speed.
Rather than using an HDPE slick bottom design like many are used to, Liquid shredder decided to stick with a simple polypropylene design.
Because of this, this Liquid Shredder FSE isn't nearly as rigid as most surfboards in this vein.
It is important to note that they do compensate for that loss in rigidity by adding two wooden stringers and a fiberglass center stringer to balance the board out.
Overall, we were surprised how fast this 9ft Liquid Shredder FSE could go.
Not only does it paddle like a charm, but it allows you to glide across the wave face with total ease. There's a lot for beginners to love about this torpedo-like board.
#6 GHOST Hybrid Black Ball Beater
Whenever you end up in a no-surf zone, having a board like the GHOST Hybrid Black Ball Beater on hand can be super helpful.
This soft and tiny Liquid Shredder takes a crescent tail and combines it with a number of small-body designs, ranging from 4'6" to 5'5".
The GHOST Hybrid Black Ball Beater is more or less for intermediate surfers and it is built for most conditions.
It comes with a set of high quality twin fins that are removable as well.
In terms of durability, you get unique vinyl skin for a bit of extra grip and a patented aluminum stringer system.
This thing can take a serious beating out in the waves, even with such a small size.
Stand Up Paddle Boards
#1 10ft 6in SUPer Armor Epoxy ABS
If you're an experienced rider looking for a LS SUP, we highly recommend the 10'6" SUPer Armor Epoxy ABS board.
It is perfect for riders up to 180 pounds and built for those who have experience out on the water.
The durability of this board is absolutely insane.
It comes with high-density EPS closed-cell foam surrounded by high quality epoxy fiberglass, as well as Liquid Shredder's ABS SUPer Armor (gotta love the puns, right?).
This Liquid Shredder paddle board is equipped with a handy microfiber pressure vent, which helps to eliminate skin delamination. Overall, this is one of the best paddleboards in the lineup and we highly recommend it for experienced riders.
#2 10ft Suntech LS
The Suntech LS is designed for advanced riders as well.
Talk about tough. this thing comes with the LS patented vinyl skin for added grip and stability, as well as added protection from sun discoloration, similar to its older brother.
Having a lightweight SUP is key if you're searching for a high-performance ride.
With the patented and advanced aluminum stringer system, you get durability and near weightlessness when riding.
The Suntech LS is a wonderful choice for those who want to paddle or carve on larger waves.
#3 9ft 6in SUP
If you're in the market for a SUP that is a bit more relaxing, we recommend the 9ft 6in SUP.
This 35" wide premium SUP model is made for touring, yoga paddleboarding and any other kind of SUP use that requires total stability.
It comes with Liquid-Comfort Tri-Color antislip deck padding and the company's patented vinyl skin for protection from discoloration and added grip.
The stringer system utilized reinforced carbo fiber to provide ultimate durability while keeping it fairly lightweight.
The Gore-tex vent ensures that you never have to worry about skin delaminations, even after many years of abuse.
We highly recommend this SUP to yogis or those who want to do a bit of easy paddling on calmer waters.
Do I Need To Wax Liquid Shredder Surfboards?
Because these boards use unique, non-skid materials, you don't necessarily need to wax them. However, applying a light coating of wax on your board never hurts. This is especially true if you are new to the world of surfing and are still working on your stability.
Can I Purchase Additional Replacement Parts?
Absolutely! All LS boards have replacement parts available. You can purchase these parts directly through the LS website or look into purchasing from third-party dealers. Do make a note that they also sell repair kits specific to their surfboards in the case that you get any dings or tears. The removable fin system makes it quite easy to replace fins in the case that they break as well!
We hope that you enjoyed our review and that it helped to narrow down your board buying decision. Whether you are looking for a new foam surfboard or a high-quality SUP, we highly recommend checking out the ones available from Liquid Shredder.
The board that you ultimately choose comes down to your personal goals for surfing, your current skill level, and your physique, including your height, weight, body type, etc.
Beyond that, you may want to look at your local spots. Do you have solid breaks that a smaller LS surfboard could perform in pretty well or do you have flatter, calmer waters that would complement a Liquid Shredder SUP?
Having a big board can make learning to surf much easier. However, you might want to upgrade later down the line for increased maneuverability and the ability to travel with your board.
Whatever you choose from this top-notch brand, we are sure that you will enjoy it. These surfboards are fun to ride and will last you for many years to come!
